The Doom 2016 single player was absolutely amazing though. It's why they understandably went the way they did with Doom Eternal multiplayer to make something more unique and attractive. No big changes from older games like quake and unreal tournament type of stuff. But other than that the weapons, loadouts and overall gameplay were underwhelming and reminded everyone too much about other games. It was kind of fun but it didn't really have that many cool parts about it except when you got the demon powerup and turned into a super demon of some kind for 30 seconds.
All respect to doom 2016 single player but the multiplayer is not very engaging at this point compared to Doom Eternal.ĭoom 2016 multiplayer never really took off, i remember trying it out back then in 2017 when the game came out and maxed out the battle level. It's a 5 year old game, with a sequel out that is just straight up better in every way for obvious reasons.
